It's a little bit like imprecatory prayer. This became very popular in Christian Identity in the 1990's, but we don't hear too much about it anymore. It may be because imprecatory is somewhat like a boomerang if one's motives are not entirely and impeccably righteous. The curse will come back to the one who imprecated should they become even more unrighteous than their intended target.
The body of Christ is not about the individual, but rather the ethnos, the community of Christians and therefore, whether making a covenant or delivering imprecatories, the reason for either to take effect can only be through the auspices of God's will, not ours. So, it then behooves us to know the will of God and to be in agreement with His plan for the ages. If something doesn't pan out, it's usually because God never intended for it to happen or for something other than what we expected.
This is probably the hardest thing for a Christian to discern in life i.e. pursuing something that may or may not be in the divine cards. Using that metaphor, many people play with cards under the table, play with a stacked deck, cards up their sleeve, card counters playing the odds, rather than playing with the cards they are dealt. This may have been what Bill was alluding to in regards to the world, "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father" I John 2:16. It's also a little like the lottery, when people have the millions of dollars already spent before they win anything. It's a dangerous seed to plant in people's minds.
Years ago when Bob Mathew's 'The Order' started dispensing their loot to national figures, the money was not then dispersed to widows and orphans. The root of all evil is the love of mammon, but even further it can be said it's the lust for personal gain, which may or may not be money. The point, as has been reiterated a million times in Christian Identity is "If My people, shall humble themselves..." That's all God is asking His people, which covers a multitude of unrighteous motives.
When David brought down the giant, there were no financial rewards. There were no deals he made with God. But, in the end, David was one of the Bible's pillars of faith and God rewarded him exceedingly. I hope you can defeat the monster of Missouri in the courts of man. And I pray that the divine court rewards all parties with His will, which may be a prosperity of spirit for the righteous and rich judgments for the wicked. Come what may, let God be true. God bless.
