An update on the situation at ODES: It appears the previous forum owner ('Texas Dissident') is MIA, and no one is able to contact him. One of the forum leaders picked up the domain name before the ADL did and shut it down (good man). Whoever is paying the bills for the current hosting and has access to the blog software isn't talking. Looks like the Liberty Forum all over to me.

I've invited members to join http://previousdissent.com -- the old archive site, which I host and maintain -- and I will work with the new domain owner to preserve as much of ODES, past and present, as we can.

The news here: Texas Dissident no longer owns the URL, though the current owner is forwarding traffic to the old software, a Drupal-based blog, for now, and the current plan is to maintain that site as well as anyone can, without actual access to it.

So yes, the blog is up, but no one online is talking about who now has access to its DB and content, if anyone, or how long the hosting will be paid for, and it is only running because one of the members bought the URL and is pointing it that way, temporarily.

What they did on ODES their last year never made any sense unless it wanted to die. First they upgraded their version 3.8.x to the latest version of the time. Then a month or so later they bought a v-bulletin v 4.0.1 license for $285 and used it for about three months. Then Texas Pissident bitched about the price of v-bulletin software after buying two licenses!!! It wasn't as if v-bulletin was going to give a refund for non-use.

It was apparent to me that ODES has a death wish.

They went with a form of database/blog oriented software which seemed designed to limit the participation insofar as possible. Because they did exactly what was necessary in order to limit their audience and participation it is no surprise to me that they burnt out as a forum and died. Then the owner simply locked things up and walked away and disappeared.

I used to destroy my sand castles back when I was a twelve-year-old kid after a long day at a beach and knowing that I couldn't take my sand-castle home with me.

Forum burnout and then a slide into irrelevance isn't anything new, as anyone who seen similar rises and falls with e-mail listservers, then jewhoo groups, and then other forums can attest to as well. ODES wasn't killed outright like Fade the Butcher does, or SoredMamzer/Bryan Reo or Kane12345666 did by design. ODES simply started to wither and was put into a sort of nursing home and then put down one night.

If you have an old database, then good. Restore it with what you have. However, what you might do is to re-activate the entire thing from now on and simply start it running again with your own v-bulletin license.

I tried to log on, but since it seems that my old username is gone, re-registered again.

I wouldn't mind having ODES up to cross-post to again.

I'm not entirely sure I parse all of this, however here are a few facts:

1. This website is accessible through two different domains, one of which I own (http://beer.weremight.com), and one of which Jaybird owns (http://thebeerbarrel.net). Both methods of access should work equally. A domain is not a website, and a website is not a website host. Jaybird owns thebeerbarrel.net (the website and the vBulletin instance) and I operate it (sometimes as webhost, sometimes not) according to his instructions. The weremight.com access method is provided by me, as a courtesy, at my own expense. If I turned it off tomorrow, nothing would change but the website performance and a lot of links would break. Other things being equal, I will try to keep both URLs working and with identical access. But if one breaks, try the other.

2. Because we get hacked a lot, there is two of everything here. Actually, when it comes to webhosts, there are three. weremight.com is my webhosting operation, which is why my name is on it, so I would have to TOS myself to turn it off. If we get some sort of TOS threat from some webhosting company saying 'do this or that or else we will shut you down', then the likely response would be 'well, you could try, but if you look I think you will discover you don't run that host'. And if they did run that host, 15 minutes later they wouldn't be--right before I sent my reply email. And I would be looking for another subcontracting firm, one among several that I use.

4. There is a 'Contact Us' form at the bottom of the website. Complaints about any matters involving privacy, legal issues, etc. should be sent there. As with any serious IRL issue, please include your full legal name (not an alias), daytime contact telephone number, and a street mailing address (not a P.O. box). Non-IRL complaints that fail this simple bona fide requirement will be rightly ignored. On my watch, *no* one has ever sent such a notice about any issue whatsoever. Not a single person. people don't want to load a front page, and then click a link to the forum. What do free media productions and occidental dissent have in common? If you type in the URL, you go somewhere other than the forum, and then you have to link to that forum. Ian Jobling's forum had the same problem. You had to get the link from the website, if you typed in white-america.us, it didn't go directly to the forum.

My new forum is a total joke (on purpose) and it's outperforming firezone in posts.

There is good reason why Fade/Hunter is doing as he is doing and making the moderated WordPress blog his foremost organ of communication. Why do you allow people to promote Harold Covington on Stormfront? I mean, it's not as if anyone on this forum is smart enough to think over things for theysselfs. OD Forum

We have a lot of people here dropping links in the comments. There are also more and more off topic discussions. I opened OD Forum back up several months ago to accommodate commentators who want to start their own discussions.

I’ve spent the last several months posting links in there. Right now, I haven’t fixed the spambot problem that keeps registering dozens of bogus accounts. In the long term, we could develop the forum as a platform to complement the blog, and there would be more discussions and more content to choose from which could be freshly updated by readers around the clock.

The black-on-White crime threads in particular are so numerous and so overwhelming that the forum is a better medium to keep track of what is going on. I don’t have much interest in vBulletin forums these days and prefer WordPress and Facebook groups, but the resource is there for anyone who wants to step up to the plate and take it over.

I had exactly the same problem on my Christian Nationalist v-bulletin forum. Seven gigabytes were being used of my ten megabyte monthly shared hosting allotment on HostMonster/HostMamzer in the daze before the Mamzer of Mentor playing CI minister got it shut down due to a coonbination of Terms of Service kvetching and using the Digital Mamzer Cooncealment Act (DMCA) extorting. I was going to be shut down and so I downloaded the stats on the cpanel and discovered that from 25-30 percent of my bandwidth was being spent on forum registration. Registration was the most commonly used page of all. An average of from 400-500 spambots would register daily and even though I set the security on high, sometimes two or three of them were still sneaking in trying sell stuff to give me the dick of death and/or to pimp out videos and pictures of their little hottt pUkranian or Guatemelan sisters and MILFS going ass-to-mouth. What to do? I was getting tired of going through the lists looking for the one in 666 that probably wasn't a spambot, allowing them to post, and then getting an ad for Viagra or Cialis anyway in the moderation queue and then banning them anyway for pulling a fast one on me.

So after a workout of deleting 1600 spambot accounts I figured out, "Why am I doing this shit? Have I nothing better to do?" So I decided to after letting them register the next day and then after that simply stop accepting registrations at all and to allow the next daze 400-500 spambot accounts stay up and harvest them as necessary.

Which is how I do things. If someone wants to join my forum, then they read a "So you want to Join My Forum" article and are told to send me an e-mail to my PastorLindstedt@gmail.com account and I'll set them up with some Russian jewboy's account and give them some temporary password so that they can access their new forum account. Sorry, "I want to tell you about a ancient Oriental secret to make jewr dick ten inches long" don't cut it. You need to tell me what you are going to do for me.

Then if I like what I read, I pull up an old spambot account, take it over, change the name, password and other items and send an e-mail to the new real member giving them their account information and asking them to change their password to something else. While I can take over an account and change the password and contact info, I cannot read an account's password. As a further security measure, if I don't know the person wanting the account, at least the first two through as many as ten posts should be put on a moderation queue and new members not allowed to make new threads on their own until they are trusted members.

Insofar as you are concerned, Fade: You need to make your forum support your WordPress Blog. You need to enable the v-bulletin BB-code for embedding jewtube videos into your old v3.7.2 forum from a number of years ago. You then need for every post on WordPress using a php database to make an analog post to your forum as well. I've been known to do this for those of your posts I like the most. Also, even your enemies like the gut-sick guido kiken-weasel with Crohns/jew ass-GAIDS and Macrobius read your columns and Macrobius actually has an RSS feed to his previousdissent forum. You give him permission to repost in full with hyperlinks, a permission that I've simply taken, and you will increase your readership of both your forum and your blog.

You might even spring for a new v-bulletin v4.2.x license and sell or give this old license you got now to Kane12345666 for him to set up his Lyceaum/previousphorafags-feebs from 2005-2007 and then to add on. Kane is an inventive, albeit obsessive quarter-jewboy.

Itz called synergy and control. You control your own blogs and forums, you create synergy with allies and neutrals.

Hope this gives you a clue, Fade. You get your blog responders on-board your forum as well as the blog. You have your allies and neutrals working with you at times, you have even your enemies reading and reacting to you. This loose network thus gives you some tentacles of power within our wonderfool bowel Movement.
