    Neosho, Mo. ? A hearing for a Newton County man facing charges of child molestation has been continued.

    On Tuesday, a pretrial conference for Shannon Spor, 33, of Neosho was reset for 9 a.m. Jan. 12. Newton County Division II Associate Circuit Court Judge Greg Stremel will preside.

    Spor was arrested Nov. 10 after an investigation by the Newton County Sheriff?s Department revealed he allegedly molested two young girls. Authorities said one of the young girls was the same child he was accused of molesting in incidents in 2006 and 2007. Spor turned himself in to authorities in October 2008, saying he?d had sexual contact with a young girl on three occasions: once in December 2006 and twice in September 2007. At the time, the child told a detective Spor had touched her several times. The girl was 6 when those charges were filed in 2008, meaning she was younger than that when the incidents allegedly took place.

    The Children?s Division of the Missouri Department of Social Services received a hotline call from a ?mandatory reporter,? who said Spor told him he had abused the girl twice since turning himself over to authorities in October 2008. Certain professionals, such as doctors, nurses and teachers, are classified as mandatory reporters under state law.

A second probable cause affidavit alleges Spor touched a second girl sexually in either September or October of 2007. Again, a hotline tip from the same mandatory reporter led to an investigation in the case.

    Spor faces two more charges of first-degree child molestation, a Class B felony, in addition to three previous charges, also of first-degree child molestation. He could face five to 15 years in prison on each charge, if a conviction is reached.

    Bond is set at $20,000.

      NDN -- Lindstedt Jailed for Contempt - June 23, 2005

      NDN -- Lindstedt Jailed for Contempt - June 23, 2005

      Twenty-two times.

      That was how often Judge Kevin Selby found Martin Lindstedt in contempt
      of court Thursday afternoon for repeated courtroom outbursts, assessing
      the Granby man 660 days, or just less than 22 months, in the county jail.

      Lindstedt had asked for the Thursday afternoon appearance to make a
      motion that he be removed from solitary confinement and placed into the
      general inmate population.

      But Lindstedt -- who faces a charge of first degree statutory sodomy --
      initially refused to enter the courtroom, and had to be escorted inside
      by members of the Newton County Sheriff's Department.

      Once there, Lindstedt began saying Selby had no jurisdiction to hear his
      case, demanding that the hearing be presided over by Judge Timothy
      Perigo. With each outburst or show of disrespect for the court, Selby
      assessed a 30-day sentence.

      Lindstedt's motion to be moved into the general inmate population was
      not heard because of the outbursts, according to Bill Dobbs, assistant
      prosecutor.

      As reported in Wednesday's Neosho Daily News, Perigo was assigned the
      case on June 6, then passed the assignment over to Selby. The case was
      initially presided over by Judge Greg Stremel.

      Lindstedt remains in custody on $100,000 bond. His next scheduled court
      appearance is at 1:30 p.m. July 21, for a preliminary hearing. This
      appearance will be before Selby.

      Since his arrest May 10, Lindstedt has had a history of vocal outbursts
      in the courtroom. On three occasions before Stremel, Lindstedt refused
      to answer questions about whether he was seeking private counsel or
      wanted to have a public defender assigned his case. Instead, Lindstedt
      spoke of his beliefs, calling those in the judicial system "regime
      criminals" when asked if he was going to seek private counsel or wished
      to have a court appointed attorney. And according to the Southern
      Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Report, during his 1998 U.S. Senate
      bid, Lindstedt touted a bill titled "The Extermination of Regime
      Criminals Act." This measure recommended the death of corrupt
      politicians and lawyers, as well as the elimination of public schools.

      During his last appearance before Judge Stremel, Lindstedt said the
      charge against him was based on "third rate hearsay" and that he was
      being "railroaded" on a bogus charge.

      Lindstedt has been acting as his own attorney in the case, and has filed
      a number of legal motions. Among these, he:
      # Asked for a change of judge;

      # Alleged unlawful imprisonment;

      # Asked that the case be dismissed;

      # Alleged denial of access to his legal file;

      # Alleged denial of access to legal resources to conduct his own defense;

      # Alleged he was improperly arraigned;

      # Alleged he is being held on excessive bond;

      # Alleged unlawful and inhumane conditions at the Newton County Jail;

      # Alleged mail had been denied or tampered with while he is at the jail;

      # Asked for an inquiry into "misconduct" by Sheriff Ken Copeland
      regarding jail conditions.

      On Thursday, Dobbs said, Selby asked attorneys with the public
      defender's office if they were interested in accepting the Lindstedt
      case. In reply, they said they will talk with supervisors before making
      a decision on the case.

      "Mr. Selby did make known his preference that Martin be represented by
      competent counsel," said Dobbs.

      A probable cause statement accuses Lindstedt of inappropriately kissing
      a young family member on the child's back, buttocks and groin area
      sometime between March and August, 2003. Lindstedt has called the
      probable cause statement "third rate hearsay."

      A perennial political candidate, Lindstedt has sought a number of
      offices over the years as a Libertarian, a member of the Reform Party
      and as a Republican. The latest of these are a 2004 bid for Missouri
      governor and races in April for a seat on the East Newton R-6 School
      Board and as Granby Municipal Judge.

      This past summer, Lindstedt filed a lawsuit against former Secretary of
      State Matt Blunt for refusing to print Lindstedt's nickname of "Mad Dog"
      on the statewide ballot in 2002 and in 2004, during the Granby
      resident's bids for U.S. Senate and Missouri governor, respectively. In
      November, the Missouri Attorney General's office asked that the suit be
      dismissed "with prejudice," which bars the right to bring or maintain an
      action on the same claim or cause.

      Lindstedt has tried to reinstate the lawsuit, but last week, U.S.
      District Court Judge Richard E. Dorr ruled against the attempt.

      Lindstedt has filed, and lost, a number of lawsuits against a variety of
      people and entities in the past. Among these are a 1996 suit against
      Missouri Southern State College and the city of Joplin, in which
      Lindstedt sought $1.3 million from the college and $5 million from the
      city of Joplin for violation of his civil rights. Also during the
      mid-1990s, he sued the city of Granby alleging violations of his civil
      rights in connection with a defective equipment charge.

      Lindstedt also sued the Missouri Libertarian Party in both state and
      federal courts for kicking the Granby resident out of the organization,
      and sued Newton County Clerk Kay Baum over his bid for sheriff in 1996.
      He has also sued Jasper County Judge Joe Shoeberl for alleged
      constitutional rights violations.

      Good Evening Newsgroup Readers,

      To add some comic relief to the newsgroup, I'm delighted to present the
      following article from today's Neosho Daily News on yesterday's
      developments in the continuing legal saga of former newsgroup
      participant Martin Lindstedt. Militiaman Lindstedt has been a bad, very
      bad, defendant and yesterday was held in contempt of court 22 times and
      sentenced to almost 2 years in jail on contempt charges alone! I'm not
      sure that even any of the Freemen or Republic of Texas members ever
      racked up that many contempt charges in one day!

      Enjoy, my fellow newsgroup readers!

        Joplin, Mo. ? An Alabama truck driver is in custody after his 12-year-old step-daughter ran into a Joplin truck stop early Tuesday saying she had been sexually assaulted.

        Three counts of faces of first-degree statutory sodomy have been filed in Newton County against Delbert F. Glover, 48, of Town Creek Ala.

        Workers at Petro truck stop on Interstate 44 south of Joplin called the Newton County Sheriff?s Department when the girl ran in at 4 a.m. wearing only a T-shirt.

        The girl had been traveling with her step-father, an over-the-road trucker, and said he had raped her repeatedly over the last nine days in the sleeper compartment of his truck. Tuesday night, she was able to jump out of the truck and run for help, law enforcement officials said.

        Glover is now in Newton County Jail on $20,000 cash bond, and faces three charges of first-degree statutory sodomy. If convicted he could face a prison term anywhere from five years to life.

          I hope people keep something in mind, children, especially little girls can be EVIL.

          I learned that a 12 year old bitch in my gradeschool, went or stayed afterschool, and grabbed my old homeroom treacher and started kissing him, demanding sex.
          He did not know what to do.
          He panisked, fled the room, ran down the hallway into the teacher's lounge, or a storeroom, and locked the door, and called for another teacher, a female, to come upstairs and help him, and to get rid of the student.

          That was not good enough.
          That little lying slut who was angry he did not do as she wanted,went ahead and had charges filed,
          so he had to stop teaching there.

          he taught science to grades 7 & 8, as well as his own homeroom class for english, art, history, etc for the rest of the day. EVERY student giot along with him, even if he was a hardass when it came to homewrok, etc. He would give you breaks and let you do extra assignments to boost your grades so you passed.
          anyways,
          Eventually, he was hired by a a highschool.

          When NOBODY has ever said a bad thing about a person, like for that man, and if you took a poll and learned the majority of the schoolyard would tell you that the little bitch was mean and vindictive, then
          I will ALWAYS question any allegations.

          If children were starting to turn rotten in the 1970s/80s with their lies, then the same types today I bet are criminals, homewreckers, junkies, whores, etc

                Newton County judge: Pay back money or go to jail

                THE ASSOCIATED PRESS ? JUNE 28, 2010

                Neosho -- A Newton County judge has given a former Leawood treasurer convicted of stealing more than $300,000 from the southwest Missouri town a choice: pay the money back or go to jail.

                Judge Kevin Selby told Gene Paul Boyd at his sentencing Friday that Boyd had one year to repay the $376,000 he stole from the town over nearly two decades. The judge said if Boyd doesn't make restitution in time he should "pack a toothbrush."

                Selby suspended the maximum 15-year prison sentence pending the repayment.

                Boyd had previously pleaded guilty to felony theft.

                The Joplin Globe reports that the 64-year-old defendant offered to repay about $250 a month to Leawood for as long as he lived, but the judge didn't approve that plan.

                  Bill Lant

                  Jefferson City, Mo. — State Rep. Bill Lant received some good news from the governor’s office recently: a Missouri Senate version of a House bill he sponsored will be signed into law.

                  Senate Bill 628, which addresses issues concerning child abuse and neglect, will be signed into law by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon on Aug. 28. Lant said the Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives would then appoint up to four state reps to serve on a committee to study and analyze the child abuse and neglect reporting system, devise a plan to improve the decision process for removal of a child from a home, determine if additional personnel are needed to adequately protect children and improve their welfare, and address the need for more foster homes.

                  “One out of four children under the age of 9 are physically or sexually abused in this state,” Lant said. “I find this totally unacceptable. We can do something about this and now is way past time to get started.”

                  The House group will join up to four members of the Missouri State Senate, chosen by the Senate’s president pro tem. However, the committee will number a total of seven lawmakers.

                  The committee will meet at least quarterly throughout the legislative year until January 2018, when it can be renewed by a vote of the Missouri General Assembly.

                  Lant’s original bill encompassed much of the same specifications as the approved Senate measure. Proponents at the time he proposed the legislation said the measure would provide a starting point to fix problems with the Children’s Division and provide a stronger framework for addressing child abuse and neglect in the state. The bill met no opposition, but Woody Cozad, a representative of Heartland Ministries, testified that caution should be exercised to avoid creating a system that is too rigid or that creates, instead of solves, problems for Missouri families.
